Pune News: Important Notice for Train Passengers! Pune–Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express Cancelled for Two Consecutive Days – Here’s Why
Pune Division Announces Puja Special Train Between Indore and Khadki
Pune, August 31, 2025 – The Pune–Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express, a key long-distance train connecting Maharashtra to North India, has been cancelled for two consecutive days due to heavy rainfall along its route. The cancellation has caused major inconvenience to hundreds of passengers who were scheduled to travel towards Jammu and other northern states.
Railway authorities stated that the decision was taken in the interest of safety as several railway tracks have been affected by incessant rainfall.
Passengers have been advised to check the official railway website for the latest updates and consider alternative travel options, including private buses, state transport services and other train routes.
The Jhelum Express is one of the most sought-after trains from Pune, connecting passengers to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Jammu. With tickets usually in high demand throughout the year, the sudden cancellation has left many travellers scrambling to rearrange their journeys.
In addition to this route, heavy rains have disrupted train services in other regions of Maharashtra, including Marathwada and Vidarbha, leading to diversions and delays.
