Chinese Actor and Singer Yu Menglong Dies at 37 After Falling from Building in Beijing
Chinese actor, singer, and model Yu Menglong has passed away at the age of 37 after falling from a building in Beijing, his agency confirmed. According to the statement released by his management team, the police have ruled out any criminal activity in connection with his death.
“With unbearable sorrow, we announce that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on September 11. Police have confirmed that no criminality is involved. We hope he rests in peace, and we pray for strength for his loved ones,” the statement read.
Earlier reports about Yu’s death circulated on social media, including a now-deleted post by a paparazzi account. According to the post, Yu was having a meal with five to six close friends at a friend’s home on September 9. On September 11, at around 2 a.m., Yu reportedly went to his bedroom and locked the door. When his friends were leaving at around 6 a.m., they did not see him and discovered his body downstairs. A neighbor who was walking their dog called the authorities. The police have stated that the case does not involve criminal activity, though the exact cause of the fall remains under investigation.
Another deleted post suggested that the incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. on September 11. Yu reportedly fell from the fifth floor of the building and died instantly upon hitting the concrete floor.
