Tragic Death: Four-Year-Old Girl Dies After Snake Bite, Family Alleges Delayed Medical Care
Parents claim lack of timely treatment at local hospital led to tragic death
In a heartbreaking incident in Khambhalpada, Dombivli, four-year-old Pranvi Bhoir died after being bitten by a snake, while staying at her maternal aunt’s house. The child had gone there along with her mother, as the family’s residence in Ajde village saw her father Vicky Bhoir working on mandap decoration and her mother away on a visit.
The tragedy unfolded at night when Pranvi, sleeping beside her aunt, began crying inconsolably. Her cries woke her aunt, who attempted to hand the child over to her mother. Shortly after, the aunt herself was bitten by the snake.
It was then realized that Pranvi had likely been bitten as well. Both were rushed to KDMC Shastrinagar Hospital for treatment. Initially, doctors reported that both were stable, but the child’s condition deteriorated within an hour. Before she could be transferred to another hospital for advanced care, Pranvi passed away at the hospital entrance. Her aunt continues to receive treatment at a private facility.
Pranvi’s parents have raised serious allegations against the KDMC hospital, claiming that inadequate treatment and the absence of alternative arrangements contributed to their daughter’s death. They insist that timely transfer to another hospital could have saved her life.
The incident has caused widespread shock and grief in the local community, as residents express sorrow over the loss of the young girl. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the snake bite and the hospital’s response.
