A tense situation unfolded at Srihari Housing Society in Mhaske Vasti, Ravet, on Monday when three people were trapped in a lift that suddenly stopped moving.
Fortunately, as per reported by Loksatta, after nearly half an hour of efforts all three were safely rescued, averting what could have been a serious accident.
The individuals rescued were identified as Tejaswini Deore (28), Kushal Deore (6), and Samriddhi Ghadge (23). According to information provided by the fire brigade, the housing society is a five-storey building. The elevator came to an abrupt halt on the first floor while the three were using it.
Residents quickly gathered to help and alerted the Municipal Fire Department. However, before fire personnel could arrive, the society’s elevator operator managed to rescue all three safely.
This incident comes close on the heels of a tragic mishap just five days earlier, when 11-year-old Amey Phadtare lost his life after getting trapped in a lift at Ramsmriti Housing Society in Chovisawadi, Charholi. In light of that tragedy, Monday’s event created an atmosphere of fear and concern among residents in Ravet.
