A 16-year-old boy injured in brutal assault at Shamrao Patil Shikshan Sanstha premises in Talsande; police case registered
A shocking case of ragging has emerged from a boys’ hostel in Talsande village of Kolhapur’s Hatkanangale taluka, where senior students were seen brutally assaulting younger boys with belts, bats, and sticks. The incident took place at the premises of Shamrao Patil Shikshan Sanstha around 5 am on October 6.
According to reports, the violent act was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage. The footage shows terrified minors being beaten mercilessly as others record the incident. One of the victims, 16-year-old Siddhivinayak Mohite, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at CPR Hospital in Kolhapur.
Following the circulation of the videos, local police registered a case against the hostel rector and initiated an investigation. Despite multiple clips surfacing online, hostel authorities have not yet released an official statement.
