Pune: 25 Fire Incidents Reported In Two Days; Firecracker Mishaps Spark Blazes In Fursungi And Kharadi Homes
Pune, October 21, 2025: The Pune Fire Brigade reported a total of 25 fire incidents between Monday afternoon and early Tuesday morning, with three of them triggered by firecrackers. Â
One such incident occurred on Fursungi Road, where a rocket firecracker landed on the 10th-floor balcony of a building, igniting a curtain and causing a blaze inside the flat. In Kharadi’s Gera Society, firecrackers caused a pile of garbage to catch fire, while dry grass near the Hadapsar railway track also went up in flames. The Fire Brigade swiftly brought all three fires under control. Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties.

In another incident, a fire broke out at the office and storage unit of Chandrakant Shah & Company near Dulya Maruti Mandir, Ganesh Peth, where grinding materials were stored. Two fire engines, a water browser, and a Devdoot rescue vehicle were deployed. Firefighters from the Central and Kasba Fire Stations successfully extinguished the blaze. No one was injured in this incident either.
Authorities have confirmed that the cause of 22 other fires remains undetermined. The Fire Department has urged citizens to exercise caution, especially during festive celebrations involving fireworks.
