India Maritime Week 2025 positions India as a rising global maritime hub with participation from over 85 countries and 1 lakh delegates. The Mumbai Traffic Police have advised motorists to use alternate routes during the restricted hours to avoid congestion.

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Maritime Leaders Conclave and chair the Global Maritime CEO Forum during India Maritime Week 2025, scheduled at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon (East), Mumbai. The five-day event, which has drawn participation from over 85 countries, more than 1,00,000 delegates, and 350 international speakers, underscores India’s strategic vision to establish itself as a global maritime powerhouse and a key player in the Blue Economy.

In view of the Prime Minister’s visit on October 29, 2025, the Mumbai Traffic Police (Western Suburbs Division) have issued a traffic advisory to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and ensure security arrangements. Temporary traffic regulations will be in place on the Western Express Highway from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, between Vakola Flyover and Dahisar Toll Naka.

The Global Maritime CEO Forum — the flagship event of the week — will bring together CEOs of leading global shipping companies, investors, policy-makers, innovators, and international partners to discuss sustainable maritime growth, resilient supply chains, green shipping, and strategies for an inclusive Blue Economy. The conclave aims to reinforce India’s commitment to decarbonisation, technology integration, and international cooperation in the maritime domain.

As the host nation, India is positioning its ports, shipyards, and coastal infrastructure as engines of economic growth and innovation. The event will also highlight government initiatives promoting port modernisation, digital logistics, and skill development under the Maritime India Vision 2047 roadmap. A series of thematic sessions, exhibitions, and technology showcases will spotlight global best practices and future opportunities in the sector.

Traffic Restrictions and Exemptions:

  • Movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) will be completely prohibited on both north and south-bound carriageways of the Western Express Highway during the specified hours.
  • However, emergency service vehicles such as ambulances, fire brigades, police vehicles, and government vehicles involved in VVIP security arrangements will be exempt.
  • Vehicles with special permission from the Traffic Police will also be allowed as per operational needs.

Citizens have been requested to cooperate with the authorities and plan their travel accordingly. The Mumbai Traffic Police have advised motorists to use alternate routes during the restricted hours to avoid congestion.

India Maritime Week 2025 is expected to serve as a defining moment in India’s maritime growth story — one that connects economic ambition with environmental stewardship, innovation, and global collaboration.
