Pune Techie Pays Emotional Tribute to Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, Recalls How It Helped Him Complete Engineering Degree
Across the country, numerous NGOs and charitable foundations are quietly transforming the lives of students who struggle to fund their education. One such story from Pune has touched the hearts of many online, highlighting how timely support can turn dreams into reality.
Kshitij Vaze, a young software engineer, recently shared his journey on X, recalling how financial constraints once made pursuing an engineering degree seem impossible. He opened up about the crucial role played by the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation (STF), which provided partial funding for his college education.
In his post, Vaze wrote, “IDK if I have told y’all this before. But almost half my college fees were supported by Sachin Tendulkar ‘s charitable foundation, the STF. It is an NGO that supports meritorious applicants from weaker economic backgrounds.”
He explained that his eligibility was based both on his strong CET score and his family’s limited financial resources. The scholarship came with academic expectations, requiring him to maintain a CGPA of 8 or higher. He proudly shared, “I was eligible because of my CET score, and because, well, financially, I was not in a position to start my engineering degree. To maintain my scholarship, I had to get a CGPA of 8+ throughout my degree, and well, I graduated with 8.12, meaning I was partially supported all the way till the end.”
Vaze also reflected on how his circumstances began improving after the sixth semester, when an internship helped him cover his daily expenses. Despite this, he emphasized that reaching his academic goals would have remained a distant dream “without God himself helping me out.”
IDK if I have told y'all this before.

Recently, he was invited to a special ceremony recognizing students who graduated with distinction. He shared his excitement, saying, “Today, I am invited to be felicitated for graduating First class with distinction and to meet the other scholars of the foundation. I’m pretty sure that I am going to cry today lads.”
Adding a nostalgic touch, Vaze posted a letter from the foundation dated 2025, which had promised him support years ago and now stands as a testament to how far he has come.
Social media users responded warmly to his story. Comments ranged from “Congo my man and wish u the best future” to “Congratulations man. You did it and kudos to Sachin Tendulkar for supporting meritorious students to achieve their dreams.” Others wrote, “Congratulations, so proud of your achievement. It really feels so special looking at people achieving such feats after coming from a humble background,” and “excuses don’t exist in our blood. kudos bhai.” Many called his journey “truly inspirational” and acknowledged the hard work behind his success.
