Pune District Declares Public Holiday on December 2 for Civic Polls
Pune, November 29: The Pune District Administration has declared a public holiday on December 2, 2025, to facilitate voting for the upcoming municipal council and nagar panchayat elections. The announcement was made by District Collector and District Election Officer Jitendra Dudi.
Voting will take place on December 2, while counting of votes is scheduled for December 3.
The holiday will apply across 17 municipal council and nagar panchayat areas in the district: Alandi, Baramati, Bhor, Chakan, Daund, Fursungi–Uruli Devachi, Indapur, Jejuri, Junnar, Lonavala, Malegaon Budruk, Manchar, Rajgurunagar, Saswad, Shirur, Talegaon Dabhade and Vadgaon.
The order covers central government offices, semi-government departments, banks and private establishments.
Eligible voters who work outside their constituencies will also be entitled to this holiday, ensuring they can return home to vote.
Collector Dudi urged all citizens to participate: “Step out, cast your vote and strengthen democracy.”
Heavy turnout is expected across polling stations in Pune district on December 2.
