Near Kolwadi village in Beed district, residents and commuters were left in shock on Friday evening when a diesel tanker, en route to a petrol pump, suddenly caught fire around 5:15 pm. The vehicle, moving at high speed, ignited unexpectedly, sending thick black smoke billowing across the area and causing widespread panic.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as terrifying, with flames rapidly consuming the tanker within minutes. The large quantity of diesel on board accelerated the blaze, threatening nearby trees and sparking fears of a major explosion.

Emergency teams from the Rural Police and Fire Brigade rushed to the site, working tirelessly to control the fire and prevent it from spreading further. The tanker was completely destroyed, but authorities have not yet confirmed any casualties. Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway.

Traffic along the highway near Kolwadi was temporarily halted to ensure safety while the fire was brought under control.
