Pune Traffic Police Book 201 Drunk Drivers During Three-Day Special Drive
Pune, December 23, 2025: The Pune City Traffic Police conducted a three-day special enforcement drive against drunk driving, taking strict action against motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol.
The special campaign was carried out from December 19 to December 21, 2025, during which traffic police teams set up 30 checkpoints across various parts of the city to monitor and inspect vehicles.
During the operation, 201 drivers were caught driving after consuming alcohol. Legal action was initiated against all offenders under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, and penalties were imposed as per the law. Further legal procedures were also carried out where required.
The Pune City Traffic Department has appealed to citizens to act responsibly, stating that drunk driving is a serious offence that significantly increases the risk of road accidents. The department urged motorists to strictly follow traffic rules to ensure their own safety as well as the safety of others on the road.
