Pune: Flying Squad Seizes 19 Washing Machines Ahead of Pimpri-Chinchwad Civic Polls From Rahatani
Pimpri, January 13, 2026: In the backdrop of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections, the Flying Squad appointed under the supervision of Anil Pawar, Election Decision Officer of the ‘D’ Ward Office, seized 19 washing machines from Ganraj Colony in Rahatani.
The action was carried out around 10:30 pm on January 12, 2026. Rahul Nikam, head of the Flying Squad, has lodged a complaint in this regard at the Kalewadi Police Station.
Polling for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections is scheduled to take place on January 15, 2026, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. To ensure strict enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, a dedicated Code of Conduct Cell has been established under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Election Officer Shravan Hardikar. Multiple enforcement teams, including SST, FST, and VST squads, are actively working across the municipal limits.
On January 12 at around 10:23 pm, the Code of Conduct Cell received a complaint alleging distribution of washing machines to voters in Ganraj Colony, Rahatani. Acting swiftly on the information, the FST Flying Squad led by Rahul Nikam rushed to the spot.
During the inspection, the squad found approximately 19 washing machines loaded in a vehicle bearing registration number MH 14 KA 6330, which were subsequently seized.
