New Delhi, February 19, 2026: Delhi Police have registered a case against quick-commerce platform Blinkit after investigators found that button-operated knives, allegedly used in two murder cases, were purchased through the company’s mobile application.

The FIR dated February 14, was lodged at Delhi Police’s Khyala Police Station in West Delhi under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.

According to officials, the action followed investigations into two separate killings in the Khyala locality. The knife delivered during the decoy operation was examined and found to exceed the size permitted under government regulations. Police said the blade measured 8 cm in length and 2.5 cm in width, surpassing the legal limit of 7.62 cm in length and 1.72 cm in width. As a result, it was classified as a prohibited weapon under the Arms Act.

Following this, police teams carried out searches at multiple Blinkit storage and distribution points. On February 15, 16 allegedly illegal knives were seized from various company-operated outlets in Delhi. The next day, an additional 32 knives were recovered from a warehouse in Farrukhnagar, Gurugram, Haryana. In total, 50 knives have been confiscated so far.

Officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and that formal notices will be issued to the company as part of the legal process. Blinkit has not yet released a public response regarding the case.
