 The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 14 districts in Maharashtra as hot and humid conditions intensify on March 10, with temperatures in Vidarbha expected to reach up to 41°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast hot and humid weather conditions across Maharashtra on March 10, issuing a yellow alert for 14 districts as temperatures continue to rise across the state.

Weather officials have warned that several regions may experience a noticeable increase in daytime temperatures. In the Vidarbha region, temperatures are expected to range between 37°C and 41°C, prompting authorities to advise residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.

In the Konkan region, including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, hot and humid conditions are expected to persist. In Mumbai, the maximum temperature may range between 34°C and 38°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to remain between 22°C and 26°C. High humidity levels may make the heat feel more intense. A yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Palghar.

In western Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur, dry and warm weather conditions are expected. Pune is likely to record maximum temperatures between 35°C and 38°C, with minimum temperatures around 18°C to 21°C.

In north Maharashtra, rising temperatures are expected in Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar. Daytime temperatures in Nashik may reach 34°C to 37°C, while Jalgaon and Ahilyanagar have also been placed under a yellow alert.

The Marathwada region — including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani and Dharashiv — is also expected to experience dry and hot weather, with maximum temperatures ranging from 35°C to 39°C. Yellow alerts have been issued for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed and Parbhani.

The Vidarbha region is expected to record the highest temperatures, particularly in Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Buldhana. Maximum temperatures in the region may range between 36°C and 41°C, with minimum temperatures around 21°C to 24°C. Yellow alerts have been issued for Amravati, Akola and Wardha.

Overall, the state is expected to experience intense summer-like conditions on March 10. Authorities have advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and monitor symptoms of heat-related stress.
