Pune: Drunken Nuisance Sparks Outrage In Hingne Mala In Hadapsar; 200 Citizens Turn To Kalepadal Police For Help
Pune, March 30, 2026: In response to rising complaints of public nuisance and harassment, a Lok Adalat was organised at Shri Kalbhairavnath Temple in Hingne Mala on Saturday evening, March 28, 2026.
Residents of the area had raised concerns about anti-social elements regularly consuming alcohol on a deserted road along the canal embankment and near concrete walls. These individuals allegedly harassed passersby, particularly women, using abusive language, creating fear among locals.
Earlier, citizens had approached Hadapsar Police Station under the leadership of corporator Yogesh Sasane, which had temporarily reduced such incidents. However, with the problem resurfacing and intensifying, a fresh initiative was taken.
Under the leadership of Yogesh Sasane, Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil from Kalepadal Police Station attended the Lok Adalat to directly hear grievances of residents. More than 200 citizens, including a significant number of women, were present at the meeting.
During the session, Inspector Patil guided attendees on issues such as cybercrime awareness, use of the emergency helpline number 112, the role of beat marshals, financial frauds, and social media-related offences. He assured citizens that strict action would be taken against offenders and encouraged them to report any law and order concerns without hesitation.
He also asked residents to save his contact number for direct communication in case of emergencies and appreciated the strong participation, especially by women.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by local representative Yogesh Hingne, followed by a felicitation of Inspector Mansing Patil and Yogesh Bapu Sasane.
