Rising Star Sara Arjun Draws Frenzied Crowd at Wankhede After IPL Clash Amid Dhurandhar 2 Success
The buzz around Dhurandhar 2 is clearly spilling beyond cinema halls and into real life, as its newest breakout face, Sara Arjun, experienced firsthand on Sunday night. The young actor found herself surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd of fans while leaving Wankhede Stadium after attending an IPL 2026 match.
Sara, who plays Yalina Jamali in the film, had come to watch the face-off between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. Dressed in a jersey supporting MI skipper Hardik Pandya, she was accompanied by her parents, Raj Arjun and Sanya Arjun. The evening turned celebratory as Mumbai Indians secured a comfortable six-wicket win against the side led by Ajinkya Rahane.
However, the excitement didn’t end with the match. As Sara exited the stadium, a surge of admirers gathered around her, eager for selfies and glimpses of the actor following the film’s strong box office run since its March 19 release. The situation quickly became overwhelming, prompting her parents to step in and escort her safely to their car.
Later, Sara shared her joy on social media, posting about the thrilling match and her team’s victory.
The actor was also seen at the game alongside Ishaan Khatter, with whom she recently collaborated on an advertisement, adding to the evening’s star presence.
Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, features a powerhouse cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Gaurav Gera, and Danish Pandor.
According to reports, casting director Mukesh Chhabra shared that Yalina Jamali was the most challenging character to cast. He noted that the role required a fresh face who could stand out among a cast of established stars, making the search particularly difficult.

For Sara Arjun, who began her journey as a child artist in films like Deiva Thirumagal, Ek Thi Daayan, Saivam, Jai Ho, Jazbaa, and Ponniyin Selvan I and II, this film marks a defining transition into a leading role. Once known as one of India’s highest-paid child actors, she is now carving her space as a leading lady.
