ICAI Revises CA Intermediate May 2026 Exam Dates; Exams To Begin From May 5
New Delhi, April 7, 2026: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially revised the schedule for the CA Intermediate May 2026 examinations. The updated timetable replaces the earlier dates announced in January.
According to the latest notification, the exams will now commence from May 5, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled May 3. The revision applies to candidates appearing at both domestic and international examination centres.
Revised Exam Schedule
Group I:
- Earlier Dates: May 3, 5, 7, 2026
- Revised Dates: May 5, 7, 9, 2026
Group II:
- Earlier Dates: May 9, 11, 13, 2026
- Revised Dates: May 11, 13, 15, 2026
No Change in Exam Timings
ICAI has clarified that there will be no change in exam timings. All papers will continue to be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (IST).
Other Exams Unaffected
The rescheduling impacts only the CA Intermediate examinations. Dates for other courses, including CA Foundation, CA Final, and Post Qualification Course (PQC) exams, remain unchanged as per the previously announced schedule.
January Attempt for CA Final Scrapped
In a related development, ICAI has discontinued the January exam cycle for CA Final candidates. The institute has reverted to conducting CA Final exams twice a year—in May and November—moving away from the earlier multiple-attempt system.
