Maharashtra Weather Update: Relief After Unseasonal Rains; Dry Conditions Likely, Yellow Alert For VidarbhaÂ
Mumbai, April 7, 2026: The India Meteorological Department has indicated a gradual improvement in weather conditions across Maharashtra, bringing relief after days of unseasonal rainfall triggered by a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea.
According to the latest forecast, the cloud cover responsible for recent rainfall is moving away, and weather conditions are expected to stabilise. Most parts of the state are likely to experience dry weather throughout the day.
Yellow Alert For Vidarbha Region
Despite overall improvement, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts in Vidarbha on April 7. These areas may witness light rainfall accompanied by gusty winds.
Additionally, isolated light showers are possible in parts of Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, and ghat regions of Nashik district.
Cloudy Skies In Mumbai Region
In Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, skies are expected to remain cloudy throughout the day. This may bring slight relief from the heat, with reduced intensity of sunlight.
Rising Temperatures In Vidarbha
While some regions may see light rain, parts of Vidarbha are expected to experience rising temperatures. Districts such as Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, and Yavatmal could face heatwave-like conditions.
Minimum temperatures in these areas are likely to range between 24°C and 27°C, while maximum temperatures may reach 38°C to 42°C.
Konkan And Western Maharashtra Forecast
The Konkan coastal belt is expected to remain hot and humid. Districts including Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg may record maximum temperatures between 32°C and 35°C.
In western Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur, rainfall chances remain low, with temperatures likely between 34°C and 38°C.
Heatwave Conditions In Marathwada
The Marathwada region is also expected to see a rise in temperatures. Districts such as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Latur, Dharashiv, Parbhani, and Nanded are likely to record temperatures between 36°C and 40°C, with some areas nearing 40°C consistently.
