Pune Traffic Alert: Major Diversions in Pimpri-Chinchwad for Ambedkar Jayanti Processions
Pune, April 13, 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has announced major traffic diversions on the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, as multiple processions are set to take place across Rahatani.
According to officials, around 14 processions will be organised from Rahatani to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue Chowk (Rahatani village) between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Due to the expected large gatherings along the procession routes, traffic movement will be restricted and diverted to ensure safety and smooth flow.
The order has been issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Vivek Patil, under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Key Traffic Restrictions:
Movement of all vehicles will be prohibited between Rahatani Phata Chowk and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue Chowk (Rahatani village).
Heavy and large vehicles will not be allowed from Kunal Hotel to Nakhate Vasti Chowk.
No entry for vehicles from Mahadev Mandir/Pimple Saudagar Police Chowki towards Rahatani Phata.
Traffic will also be restricted from the T-point near Jeevanjyoti Hospital towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk.
Alternative Routes:
Vehicles from Rahatani Phata towards Rahatani village should use the Kalewadi Phata route.
Traffic from Kunal Hotel and nearby areas should also be diverted via Kalewadi Phata.
Vehicles from Mahadev Mandir/Pimple Saudagar Police Chowki should take the P.K. Chowk route.
Commuters near Jeevanjyoti Hospital should use the P.K. Chowk route for onward travel.
The restrictions will be in effect from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, or until traffic conditions normalize. Emergency service vehicles will be exempted from these restrictions.
Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate and use the designated alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
