The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for 16 districts across Maharashtra on April 23, warning of a dual weather impact of heatwave conditions and unseasonal rainfall. The forecast indicates fluctuating weather patterns, with several regions likely to experience thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rising humidity levels.

Even in districts without an official alert, the IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall, signaling a broader shift in weather conditions across the state.

Konkan Region

Districts including Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Sindhudurg, and Ratnagiri are likely to witness heatwave conditions coupled with unseasonal rain.

  • Maximum temperatures: 34°C to 36°C
  • Minimum temperatures: 25°C to 27°C
    High humidity is expected to intensify discomfort, with intermittent rainfall under a yellow alert.

Western Maharashtra

In Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, and Solapur, cloudy skies and afternoon thunderstorms are expected.

  • Maximum temperatures: 33°C to 36°C
  • Minimum temperatures: 22°C to 25°C
    Some areas may experience lightning and brief spells of rain later in the day.

Marathwada Region

Districts such as Nanded, Dharashiv, and Latur are under a yellow alert for rainfall with gusty winds.

  • Maximum temperatures: up to 37°C
  • Minimum temperatures: 23°C to 26°C

Meanwhile, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, and Hingoli are not under alert, but may still receive light to moderate rainfall.

  • Maximum temperatures: 33°C to 35°C
  • Minimum temperatures: 21°C to 24°C

Vidarbha Region

Across Vidarbha, intense heat conditions will persist.

  • Maximum temperatures: 36°C to 38°C
  • Minimum temperatures: 22°C to 26°C

The IMD has urged citizens to remain cautious amid the combined impact of heat and rain, advising adequate hydration, avoidance of direct sun exposure, and preparedness for sudden weather changes.
