Pimpri, May 2, 2026: In a strong move to curb rising air pollution, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has intensified its action against Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) plants violating environmental norms. The civic body’s Environment Engineering Department has been conducting continuous inspection drives, focusing on strict enforcement to control dust pollution across the city.

As part of this initiative, the anti-nuisance squad carried out inspections at 10 RMC plants located in Punawale, Moshi, and Pimple Saudagar areas. During the inspection, serious violations were found in four projects. Authorities observed the absence of functional dust control systems, poor housekeeping, and improper storage of raw materials in open spaces, all contributing to significant dust pollution.

Following these findings, four RMC plants were immediately sealed. These include Farande RMC Plant in Moshi, Yash RMC Plant in Chinchwad, Ram Group Crystal One RMC Plant in Moshi, and Asawani Associates G.K. RMC Plant in Pimple Saudagar.

Meanwhile, other RMC operators have been instructed to implement dust control measures on an urgent basis. The civic body has warned that stricter action will be taken in the next phase if compliance is not ensured. The administration is maintaining continuous surveillance on RMC units, construction sites, and industrial projects across the city.

Officials stated that such inspection drives will continue in the future to ensure effective pollution control. The municipal administration reiterated its commitment to providing citizens with a clean, safe, and healthy environment and confirmed that strict action against violators will persist.

“Effective control of air pollution in the city is the top priority of the municipal corporation. Construction and industrial projects must strictly adhere to environmental norms, and any violation will not be tolerated. Continuous action against polluting entities will help improve the city’s air quality,” said Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi, Commissioner, PCMC.

“Framing rules alone is not enough; their effective implementation is crucial. Immediate action is being taken where pollution control measures are not found in RMC plants. Inspection drives will be intensified further, and strict action will continue against violators,” said Sanjay Kulkarni, Chief Engineer, PCMC.
