Pune, May 18, 2026: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Pune City Police Crime Branch rescued two women and arrested a female accused during a raid conducted at a spa centre in Bibwewadi on May 16.

According to police officials, the action was carried out following confidential information received by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Prostitution Prevention Cell regarding alleged prostitution activities being operated from “Vishwa Ayurvedic Upchar Kendra” located at Shreyas Nimbus Society near Shani Maruti Mandir in Mahesh Society, Bibwewadi.

Acting under the guidance of Police Inspector Chhagan Kapse, the police team verified the information using a decoy customer before conducting a surprise raid at the premises.

During the operation, police rescued two women who were allegedly being forced into prostitution at the spa and massage centre.

The police arrested the accused woman identified as Kiran Bharatraj Avdute, 30, a resident of Upper Indiranagar, Bibwewadi.

A case has been registered against the accused at Bibwewadi Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pankaj Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vivek Masal and Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumbhar.

The raid team included Police Sub-Inspector Vishant Chavan and other crime branch personnel.
