Pune, July 6: The main road connecting Dhanori and Lohegaon was submerged following heavy rainfall, causing major inconvenience to commuters, students, and office-goers as traffic movement was severely affected.

Social activist Pradeep Rawate has blamed the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for the recurring problem, alleging that despite repeated warnings before the monsoon, the civic body failed to undertake timely drain cleaning, improve stormwater drainage, and implement necessary preventive measures.

According to Rawate, the flooding highlights shortcomings in the PMC’s planning and negligence in addressing a long-standing civic issue. He has demanded that responsibility be fixed on the concerned officials and that permanent measures be implemented to prevent the road from flooding every monsoon.
