Pune, July 7, 2026: The Pune Traffic Police have introduced a 40 kmph speed limit on the stretch between Abhinav School and Navale Bridge under the Bharati Vidyapeeth Traffic Division to improve road safety and reduce accidents, especially during the ongoing monsoon.

The order has been issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr. Sandeep Bhaji Bhakare under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The revised speed limit applies to all regular vehicles, while emergency service vehicles, including fire brigade, police and ambulances, have been exempted.

The traffic department has cancelled all previous speed limit orders for the route and urged motorists to regularly monitor their speedometers and strictly follow traffic signs and road safety instructions.

Authorities also warned that violations of the speed limit will be monitored through CCTV cameras and speed guns, and offenders will face action as per the law.
