In shocking news, the Vanaz Metro Station has developed a lot of leaks & cracks on the walls at the entry and exit points of Gate no 3. It is worthy to note that the station was inaugurated last year in 2022 however, within a year it has started developing these issues exposing the shoddy work. Apart from this, the issue of water leaking from the roof has also come to the fore leading to water getting accumulated on the floors making it extremely slippery for the commuters.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director, Public Relations and Administration, Pune Metro said, “We have understood the issue. Every day our cleaning team cleans all the floors of the station. However, heavy rain has made it difficult to control the leaks & water accumulation. We are soon planning to have a permanent solution for this as we will fix all the leaks & cracks in the walls of all the affected metro stations and not only Vanaz. We have a team dedicated to identifying and resolving such issues in Metro stations. The crew is always working around the city, and the same team will tackle this problem.”

As per the information, the roof leakage is near the station’s entry stairs and lifts. The station’s roof is sloped to prevent water accumulation. Still, leaks & cracks are present on the roof.
