Pune: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Pune has caught three police constables from Yerwada Police Station in connection with an alleged bribery case. The accused constables are identified as Rajendra Dixit, Jairam Savalkar and Vinayak Mudholkar.

As per the information, the complainant, who runs a transport business in Pune, has approached the police station to file a complaint as his car was involved in an accident. It is reported that the constables demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 to file the complaint. The complainant then approached the ACB, which laid a trap and caught all the accused red-handed.

Following a thorough investigation by the ACB, the police constables were apprehended. During the interrogation, Dixit admitted to accepting the bribe of Rs 13,000. The two other accused also received the amount following an agreement between the parties. Dixit was found in possession of the accepted bribe and was taken into custody by the ACB.

The ACB placed the entire premises under surveillance until late at night on Monday. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and strict action will be taken against all those found guilty.

This incident once again highlights the importance of eradicating corruption within law enforcement agencies. The ACB has urged the public to come forward and report any instances of bribery or corruption, emphasizing that such information will be treated confidentially.
