Paytm Payments Bank, which is linked with Paytm, has been told by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to stop its operations. The RBI ordered Paytm Payments Bank to stop taking any new deposits into its accounts or its popular digital wallet starting from February 29th. This deadline has been extended to March 15th.

After March 15th, no more deposits, credit transactions, or top-ups will be allowed in any customer accounts, prepaid instruments, wallets, FASTags, National Common Mobility Cards, etc., as per the RBI’s instructions.

Existing Paytm FASTags can still be used to pay tolls with the balance already in the account, but no additional top-ups will be possible after March 15th.

If you want to deactivate your Paytm FASTag, you have two options:

  1. Call 1800-120-4210 and provide your registered mobile number along with the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) or the Tag ID. A Paytm customer support agent will assist in closing your FASTag.
  2. Alternatively, you can open the Paytm app, go to your profile, select “Help & Support,” then navigate to “Banking Services & Payments” > “FASTag.” Click on “Chat with us” and ask the executive to deactivate your account.

To buy a new FASTag online:

  1. Download the “My FASTag” app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Click on “Buy FASTag” to access the e-commerce link.
  2. Purchase the FASTag, and it will be delivered to your address.
