Amazon Layoff : Hundreds to lose jobs in Prime Video and MGM Studios layoffs
In a recent development, Amazon has declared another round of layoffs affecting its Prime Video and MGM Studios divisions. Mike Hopkins, Company CEO conveyed this news to employees through an email on Wednesday, signifying a significant reduction in the workforce.
“We are considering reducing or discontinuing investments in certain areas. As a result, we have decided to cut staff at Prime Video and MGM Studios,” Hopkins said in an email.
In the email, he wrote, “It’s hard to say goodbye to the talented Amazon employees who make such important contributions to the business. Thank you for your dedication and work.”
Last year, Amazon.com laid off employees in its music division. More
than 27,000 employees of the company have lost their jobs in the past year.
