Atal Maha Arogya camp free health checkup camp receives good response

Doctors and health staff from many reputed hospitals in Mumbai, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad were invited for the camp. 

Sangvi: The two-day free Atal Maha Arogya camp organized at PWD ground in Navi Sangvi for the poor and needy patients in association with Maharashtra Government Health Department and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation as well as Pratibha Mahila Pratishthan, Chandrarang Charitable Trust received overwhelming response. The residents of nearby areas benefitted out of the camp.  More than 35,000 patients were treated free of charge. Similarly, at least 4000 people suffering from heart disease were treated free of charge. While, more than 3,000 boys and girls were given counselling at the camp, 50,000 pair of spectacles were distributed. Hearing aids were given to 450 people and Jaipur feet, calipers, wheelchairs and walking stick were given to 150 disabled people, free of cost.


 Doctors and health staff from many reputed hospitals in Mumbai, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad were invited for the camp. These expert doctors examined and treated patients of all ages, free of charge. Free surgery will be done in the respective hospitals for the patients who have to undergo one.

Shankar Jagtap, the organizer of the camp and BJP’s Chinchwad assembly election chief, said, “Many people do not seek treatment for their illness due to lack of money. The responsibility of providing free treatment, medicines and surgery to such poor and marginalized people was taken through this Atal Maha Arogya camp.”


Rajendra Rajapure, former chairman of the organizer and standing committee, said, “Even after the end of the Atal Maha Arogya camp, free treatment facilities will continue to be provided to the patients on behalf of MLA Laxman Jagtap.”
