Pune, February 21, 2022: ‘Gangadhar Swarotsav’ organized by Swaraninad concluded with melodious songs of vocalist Manjiri Asnare-Kelkar and flute playing by Pt. Ronu Muzumdar. The three-day festival was held at Muktangan Balaranjan Kendra in Sahakar nagar.

In the first session on Sunday, Manjiri Asanare-Kelkar, a vocalist from Atrauli gharana of Jaipur, performed Raag ‘Jayatashri’, which is a mixture of ‘Jayat’ and ‘Shri’. She also performed bandish- ‘Jabte Piyu Sapne Mein Aaye’ and ‘Bahut Din Beete Re’.

She later performed Raag ‘Basanti Kedar’, ‘Attar Sugandh Gulab’, ‘Naveli Nar’ and ‘Khelan Iyo Ri Hori’. She ended the session with the abhang- ‘Ho Miya Janewale’ and ‘Dev Manhe Naamya Paahe, Gyandev mich aahe’. She was accompanied by Sanjay Deshpande (tabla), Shriram Hasbanis (harmonium) and Devashri Navdhare (Tanpura).

In the final session, Pt. Ronu Muzumdar played Raag ‘Jhinjhoti’ on flute. After performing a varied ‘Saade Saat Taal’, he performed a melodious composition in ‘Teen Taal’. He also performed a bandish on flute in Raag ‘Nand’ and a composition in Raag ‘Pahadi’. Toward the end, he paid homage to Bharat Ratna, Lata Mangeshkar by playing ‘Tinhi Saanja Sakhe Milalya’. He was accompanied by Arvind Kumar Azad (tabla) and Kalpesh (flute). All three days of the festival were hosted by Madhura Oak-Gadre.
