Baba Siddiqui Murder Plot hatched 3 months ago in Pune, accused used YouTube tutorials to learn how to shoot
In a significant development in the Baba Siddiqui murder case, Mumbai Police have uncovered that the assassination plot was planned three months ago in Pune. The shooters involved were paid substantial sums for the job, according to a police statement released on Tuesday.
Police revealed that the accused had visited Baba Siddiqui’s house multiple times without weapons before the attack. The plotters identified their target using photos and banners of Siddiqui and had conducted reconnaissance on his house and office 25 days before the incident.
Key accused in the case, Gurmel Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, reportedly learned to shoot by watching YouTube videos and practiced without a magazine in Mumbai. They were arrested after the plot was uncovered.
Harishkumar Balakram (23), who acted as a middleman, delivered ₹2 lakh to Gurmel and Dharamraj on behalf of Praveen and Shubham Lonkar, who are also implicated in the case. Shubham is currently absconding. In addition to the money, Harish also provided two mobile phones to help with coordination.
Police also revealed that the accused used social media platforms, including Snapchat and Instagram, to communicate during the planning phase of the crime. The investigation is ongoing as authorities search for more individuals connected to the conspiracy.
This revelation sheds light on the level of preparation involved in the planned attack, with digital tools and online resources playing a crucial role in the training and coordination of the suspects.
