A Mumbai man had an unexpected encounter while using the city’s Metro, receiving a “toilet pass” at a station—a move that left him both puzzled and amused. Sharing his experience on Reddit, he posted a photo of the unusual pass, which prompted a wave of witty responses from users.

The man, who boarded the Metro from Ghatkopar and was heading to DN Nagar, was surprised when he was handed a pass just to use the station’s washroom. “I had to get a pass for the toilet, and the counter guy even left his post twice to grant me access,” he explained in his post. The pass had spaces to fill out personal details like name, ticket number, contact information and even required a signature.

Wondering why a simple bathroom visit required such paperwork, the man asked fellow Reddit users if they’d had similar experiences. One user found it amusing, commenting, “I’ve used that same line and never needed a pass. Maybe it’s something new.” Another chimed in, saying, “I’ve used Metro toilets without filling out forms—perhaps I’m the reason they have this system now!”

Some users compared the situation with Delhi Metro, where no such pass system exists. One user humorously noted, “Not to brag, but I’ve used the Metro toilets multiple times without any forms. Maybe you’re just special.”

Others shared similar stories of receiving toilet passes at different stations, but expressed frustration over the inconvenience. “I had to pass through two turnstiles to reach the toilet—maybe that’s why this pass system exists,” explained the original poster.

The exchange ended with a few laughs, but the situation highlighted a quirky detail about using public facilities in Mumbai’s Metro system. As of now, the toilet pass remains a mystery for many commuters, sparking both confusion and humor among travelers.
