Every member of the Indian squad, including coaches and support staff, receives a share of the prize money.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a whopping Rs 125 crore prize money for the Indian team after their triumphant win in the T20 World Cup 2024. This substantial reward will be distributed among players, coaching staff, and other team members. Here’s a breakdown of who gets what from this cash-rich purse.

Each of the 15 players in the squad, which includes Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sanju Samson (who didn’t feature in any match), will receive Rs 5 crore each. This ensures that every player, regardless of their on-field participation, is recognized for their contribution to the team’s success.

Rahul Dravid, who completed his tenure as head coach with this World Cup, will also be awarded Rs 5 crore, equal to the players’ share, acknowledging his significant role in guiding the team to victory.

The coaching staff, consisting of batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, will each receive Rs 2.5 crore. Their efforts in honing the skills of the players have been integral to the team’s success.

Additionally, the backroom staff will be awarded Rs 2 crore each. Backroom staff includes three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two masseurs, and strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai. Their behind-the-scenes work has been crucial in maintaining the team’s fitness and readiness.

The reserve players named for the T20 World Cup — Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed — will each get Rs 1 crore. This amount will also be given to the five members of the BCCI’s Senior Selection Committee, headed by chairman Ajit Agarkar, in recognition of their role in team selection.

India clinched the T20 World Cup 2024 successfully without losing a single match. They capped their campaign with a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in the final at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, on June 29. This achievement has been celebrated with the generous prize distribution by BCCI, ensuring every member associated with the team receives due recognition.
