Be careful while you celebrate Ganeshutsav in parking area

In a bizzare incident that took place on Wednesday late evening at Undri based society has spread fear among the residents. The members were enjoying the festivities when a private car caught fire due to short circuit.
The incident took place at Undri based Kad nagar area in Keystone society on Wednesday evening around, 7 pm wherein Honda Amaze car owned by Robert Thomas caught fire after which the residents alerted the fire brigade.
A team of fire Brigade team rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The fire Brigade team including Mangesh Kale, Mahesh Phadtare, Dinesh Dagale, Harshavardhan Khade, Raviraj Bhagal, Prasad Shinde and Sandeep Kawade rushed to the spot.
Speaking to Pune Pulse firemen Mahesh Phadtare said, “At 7.01 pm we received a call about the fire incident. We rushed to the spot and within few minutes we brought the fire under control. The car owned by Robert which was parked in the parking area near the main gate and just 100 meters away from Ganeshutsav pandal. The car owner went home and while his return to the car he tried starting the car but a spark blew and the car caught fire. The others cars were removed. Robert’s car was a petrol one. Prima facie it seems to be fire caught due to short circuit.”
He added, “We managed to douse the fire. But in this process Amaze car owned by Robert had been burnt 90 per cent while another car was also Honda Amaze owned by Saurabh Parihar got damaged especially the car mirror and other area of car around worth of Rs 40,000 damage. The buildings ceiling is damaged due to thick flames but a major disaster has been averted.”
