With the continuous rainfall for the past few days resulted in minor tree felling incidents in Wanowrie and Hadapsar. 

When Pune Pulse spoke to the garden department official from Wanawadi Ramtekdi ward office, Vijay Never, he said, “In the last few days four incidents were reported of tree felling in the area. But there has been no damage to any property or human lives. In an incident in Divya Nagar in Wanowrie a branch of neem tree fell on the car which was removed as soon as the department was informed.”

Former corporator of Wanowrie, Kalinda Punde said, “The continuous rains has put created fear among the citizens as cases of water logging, tree felling are being reported. But my Quick Response Team is working efficiently in resolving such issues. In an incident held in Divya Nagar in Wanowrie a branch of a tree fell in a private car which was removed by the QRT team. Residents can get in touch with me incase of any such issues in their neighborhood. ” 

Giving further information on tree felling Prasad Katkar, assistant commissioner Hadapsar ward office said, “Till date only one tree felling incident has been reported. This took place in Kalepadal area near the railway track where the soil became loose due to continuous rains. Timely pruning and trimming of trees posing danger has ensured no such incidents take place. Citizens can report about such cases to PMC for immediate action.”
