A coach of the Vande Bharat train, traveling from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, to New Delhi, caught fire on Monday morning.

The fire originated from a spark in a battery, specifically in coach number 14, near Kurwai station. Prompt action was taken as a team of fire brigade officials quickly arrived at the scene, ensuring the safe evacuation of all passengers.

The incident occurred as the train departed from Rani Kamalapati station (formerly known as Habibganj) en route to Nizamuddin in New Delhi. The fire broke out in the battery box of one of the coaches, leading to an immediate response from the railway authorities.

According to a statement from the Railways, the fire was reported at Kurwai Kethora station, and the fire brigade promptly arrived to extinguish the flames.

Visuals from the scene depicted a fire engulfing one of the coaches, with individuals attempting to douse the fire. Passengers were seen waiting outside the train at the Kurwai Kethora station during the incident.

The Vande Bharat Express train service, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April, connects Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh with Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi.

Covering a distance of 701 kilometers in 7 hours and 30 minutes, the train operates daily except on Saturdays. The safety of passengers remains a priority, and swift action was taken to ensure their well-being during this incident.
