BJP Candidates Launch Ward 26 Campaign at Wakad’s Mhatoba Temple, MLA Shankar Jagtap Flags Off Rally
Wakad, January 3: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidates from Ward 26 formally began their election campaign on Thursday with a grand and enthusiastic launch at the Mhatoba Temple in Wakad. The event marked the start of campaigning across Wakad, Kaveri Nagar, Pimple Nilakh, Kaspate Wasti and Vishal Nagar. The campaign was inaugurated by campaign in-charge and MLA Shankar Jagtap, who led the proceedings and offered guidance to the candidates. Expressing confidence, all candidates stated that under his leadership, the entire BJP panel would secure victory with a strong margin.
Several party office-bearers, panel leaders and senior workers were present on the occasion, along with a large number of local residents and members of senior citizens’ groups from Wakad. The strong turnout reflected growing momentum and grassroots support for the BJP in the ward. Addressing the gathering, MLA Jagtap said Ward 26 is one of the most important and rapidly developing areas of the city. He appealed to citizens to stand firmly with the BJP candidates to protect civic rights and ensure continued development. He added that voters would bless the party’s candidates by exercising their democratic right in large numbers.
As part of the programme, candidates Vinayak Gaikwad, Aarti Chaudhe, Sneha Ranajit Kalate and Sandeep Kaspate offered prayers at the village deity temple and sought blessings from senior citizens. The campaign launch was celebrated with firecrackers, music and showers of gulal, creating a festive atmosphere.
A large foot march was taken out following the inauguration, drawing an overwhelming public response. The procession concluded at Mankar Chowk amid the beats of traditional dhol and tasha. Women participated enthusiastically, welcoming the candidates with aarti and flower showers, adding to the celebratory spirit of the event.
