Published by Vishwakarma Publications, the book will be launched by Prof Dr Nitin Karmalkar, Vice Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) on Wednesday May 11, 2021 at 4:30 pm at Department of Communications & Journalism, Ranade Institute building on Fergusson College road.

The book provides an overview of journalism, beginning from the fundamentals — the Five Ws and One H which were introduced over two centuries ago — to the social media new-age news format brought in the first decade of the 21st century. It does not limit itself to teaching how-to-gather-and-write news and features. Still, it promises to train journalism students, young teachers, and media users in the implications of the proliferation of digital journalism.

This book also deals with the topics belonging to the new era, such as Integrated Newsroom, Power of Digital Media, News Websites, Data Journalism, Digital Storytelling, Data Science, Podcast and Twitter. With several contemporary examples, the book promises to be a comprehensive reference guide to all those interested in journalism, social media, and technical writing.
