Boom in Mumbai’s Luxury Flat Market: 3,000 High-End Flats Worth INR 38,000 Crore Sold in 2023

In Mumbai, lots of rich people bought fancy flats in 2023. These flats cost a lot of money, totaling more than 38,000 crore rupees. Even though many people in Mumbai live in slums because there aren’t enough cheap houses, the rich are buying these super expensive flats in luxurious buildings all over the city. This trend is growing, with twice as many expensive flats sold in 2023 compared to 2022.

According to a company called Liases Foras, about 3,000 of these new fancy flats were sold in 2023, compared to 1,567 in 2022. Most of these flats were priced between 5 crore and 10 crore rupees. There were also some even pricier ones that cost more than 10 crore rupees. These luxury flat sales made up a big chunk of all the flat sales in the city.

Some of the big deals included a businessman named Niraj Bajaj paying 252 crore rupees for a huge flat in March and another industrialist named B K Goenka paying 240 crore rupees for a penthouse in February.
