The new measures, which came into effect on March 1, 2025, target serious violations like drunk driving, riding without a helmet, and dangerous driving. These stricter enforcement efforts aim to deter reckless behavior and create a safer road environment.
Drunken Driving
The consequences of drunk driving in Noida have become significantly more severe under the new traffic regulations. Instead of just a hangover, a DUI now carries a hefty fine of Rs 10,000 and a potential six-month jail sentence. Repeat offenders face even stricter penalties, with a fine of Rs 15,000 and a possible two-year prison term. These harsh penalties are a clear message from authorities that drunk driving will not be tolerated and that the safety of all road users is paramount.

Driving without valid insurance is a risky move. You could be fined Rs 2,000, spend three months in jail, and be ordered to do community service. If you’re caught again, the fine jumps to Rs 4,000.
Traffic Discipline
Think you’re a stunt driver in a movie? Well, in real life, pulling off those “Fast & Furious” moves on public roads will cost you a cool Rs 5,000. And if you’re so caught up in your own world that you don’t let an ambulance pass, get ready to pay Rs 10,000. Overloading your vehicle? That’s a Rs 20,000 fine – a serious reminder that safety comes first.
Juvenile Offenders: No Longer a Child’s Play
If a young person under 18 breaks traffic laws, their parents or guardians will face a serious penalty: a Rs 25,000 fine, a possible three-year jail sentence, and the vehicle’s registration will be canceled for a year. And to make sure they learn their lesson, the young driver won’t be able to get a driver’s license until they turn 25.
