Two brothers, identified as Faisal Balwa (34) and Faijan (27) from Jogeshwari (East), were apprehended by Sahar police for entering the premises of Mumbai International Airport using fake air tickets. They were caught by a constable at Gate Number 3 while attempting to exit the airport.

The incident occurred when the brothers, supposedly there to drop off their sister flying to Doha, used counterfeit e-air tickets to gain access to the airport.

Normally, if a passenger decides not to board a flight, they are escorted by airline officials to the exit gate. However, in this case, no one accompanied the brothers, arousing suspicion.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that the tickets used by the duo were fake, confirmed by Vistara airline officials. The brothers had entered the airport from departure gate number 4 after passing CISF inspection, but their lack of luggage drew attention as they attempted to leave from Gate 3.

During questioning, the brothers confessed that they had created the counterfeit tickets to assist their sister, who allegedly had large suitcases. However, airline records revealed no trace of them on any Vistara flight on the specified date.

As a result, the brothers have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for common intention, cheating, and forgery, as stated by a Sahar police official.
