As per information, the cargo truck carrying cement bricks crashed into the parking lot as the driver lost the control due to brake failure. The brakes of this truck failed in the ghat itself and the truck came down the ghat slope at a high speed to Lavale. The driver of the cargo truck first hit the electricity pole on the right side but the speed of the truck was so high that this truck uprooted the electricity pole and broke the electric wires along with it.

With the driver trying to control the speed, due to the massive momentum, the truck, along with the electricity pole & wires, fell into the parking lot of Oxford Mall at Lavale Phata. This accident was so terrible that both the front wheels of this truck were broken.

The moment the brakes of the truck failed, three laborers were also traveling in the truck to unload the goods and the driver had alerted the co passengers of the truck about the brake failure. The driver sustained minor injuries in the incident and was treated at a private hospital in Lavale Phata and discharged.

This incident has been registered at Paud Police Station and further investigation of this incident is underway.
