Agra’s Rakabganj Police Station is currently the talk of the nation, embroiled in controversy over an alleged love affair between a male and a female inspector. The drama unfolded when Inspector Pawan Nagar’s wife, Geeta Nagar, caught him red-handed with his supposed lover, Inspector Shaili Rana. A video of the ensuing chaos in the police colony has gone viral on social media over the past two days, prompting the police department to take significant action.
The scandal erupted after Geeta Nagar, armed with information provided by someone from the police station, embarked on a 300-kilometer journey with her brother, sister-in-law, son, and nephew. They stormed into Shaili Rana’s residence in the police colony, only to find Pawan and Shaili in a compromising situation. An enraged Geeta and her relatives physically assaulted both inspectors, an incident that was filmed by onlookers and quickly spread online.
Previously, Inspectors Pawan Nagar and Shaili Rana were stationed together in Noida, where their acquaintance turned into a close friendship and eventually, an affair. Their bond deepened as they worked closely together, maintaining constant contact. However, when Shaili was transferred to Agra, Pawan’s wife, Geeta, began to suspect her husband’s infidelity.
Geeta’s suspicions were confirmed when she learned about Pawan’s extramarital relationship with Shaili. Determined to catch them in the act, Geeta, along with her relatives, orchestrated the sting operation that led to the public spectacle and the viral video.
Pawan, initially stationed in Muzaffarnagar, had been transferred to the vigilance department. To avoid the transfer, he feigned illness and took sick leave, which he used to visit his lover in other cities. Geeta, sensing something amiss with Pawan’s behavior, began her own investigation. She discovered that her husband’s trips were not to stall the transfer but to meet Shaili. Armed with this knowledge, Geeta laid a trap, resulting in her husband’s public humiliation.
The viral video of both inspectors being beaten caused considerable embarrassment for the police department. As a result, Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Gaud suspended Shaili Rana, stating that no one has the right to take the law into their own hands. Commissioner Gaud has also ordered that those who assaulted the inspectors be charged.
Regarding the situation, X user 47Sha said that, “If you don’t want to live with her, get a divorce and be with the other woman. Don’t deliberately cheat on someone.” The scandal has not only tarnished the image of the police force but has also raised questions about the personal conduct of its officers.
