Caught on Camera: Businessman Thrown Into Air, Killed as Minor Driving Speeding Car Crashes Into His Bicycle Near Mumbai
Srinivas Tandale, a well-known businessman from Thane, lost his life when a speeding car allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy struck him while he was cycling on Ring Road near Chandori in Kalyan. The impact sent him flying into the air, and he died instantly at the scene. CCTV footage shows the car hitting Tandale’s bicycle on the left side of the road, capturing the full force of the collision on an almost empty stretch.
According to preliminary reports, the minor took his family car without permission and drove onto the road. While speeding, he lost control of the vehicle, causing the fatal crash.Thane police acted quickly, seizing the car and taking the minor into custody around 9 am on Wednesday. Legal action has also been initiated against his mother, Kamini Yogesh Pandey, with proceedings underway against his father for alleged negligence.
Local residents have pointed out that this section of Ring Road has become increasingly prone to accidents in recent days. They noted that after barricades were removed, traffic flow increased, and instances of speeding vehicles rose.
Rahnuma Al Shamuddin, a member of a local cycling group, raised concerns about safety for pedestrians and cyclists. She said the area has become dangerous for morning walkers, joggers, and cyclists. In response to the incident, the cycling group, along with local residents, has planned a protest on Thursday, demanding stricter traffic regulations and improved safety measures along the road.
