Pune, June 10 : Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday raided the office and home of a very senior IAS official, after allegedly catching him red handed while taking bribe. The official, identified as Revenue Divisional Commissioner Anil Ramod, has now been detained by the CBI, and is likely to be thoroughly interrogated.

The CBI sleuths not only called for two cash counting machines for counting of notes seized from the IAS officer, but some bank officials were also called to count the money. Earlier in the morning, the CBI caught Ramod red-handed while taking bribe at his residence. About 10 to 12 officers of ‘CBI’ came to Ritupurna society of Baner village where Ramod lives.

Ignoring the security of the society, these officials went directly to the fourth floor of the ‘C’ wing of the building and took possession of Ramod’s house and arrested him from there. It is said that they locked the door and started the investigation. Ramod has been working as an additional commissioner in Pune Divisional Commissioner’s office for about two years.

The amount of cash and other valuables seized during the day were yet to be disclosed by CBI officials.
