CBSE Announces New Initiative for 'Parenting Calendar' to Boost Parent-School Communication

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the creation of a committee to develop a Parenting Calendar for the 2025-26 academic year. The goal of this committee is to improve collaboration between parents and schools. Effective communication among parents, teachers, and school authorities is essential for enhancing the learning outcomes of all students, including those in online education.

According to the official notice, the committee has several objectives, which include:

  • – Facilitating effective interactions between parents and teachers
  • – Supporting the diverse needs of students, including adolescents, children, students with special needs (CWSN), and those in early to middle age groups
  • – Establishing a consistent communication framework to address important milestones
  • – Providing timely support and intervention through structured engagement

The committee will be headed by Anuradha Joshi, who is the Principal of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Delhi. The committee is made up of nine additional members, which include:

  • – Rekha Krishnan (Principal, Vasant Valley School, Delhi)
  • – Dr. Swati Popat Vats (President, Podar Education Network, Mumbai)
  • – Dr. Nivedita Ganguly (Principal, DAV International School, Ahmedabad)
  • – Minakshi Kushwaha (Principal, Birla Vidya Niketan, Delhi)
  • – Manju Arif (Principal, Delhi Public School, Bangalore North)
  • – Annie Koshy (Principal, St. Mary’s School, Delhi)
  • – Dr. Paramjit Singh (Principal, Army Public School, Ambala Cantt, Ambala)
  • – Dr. Diganta Haldar (Principal, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati, Assam)
  • – Richa Agnihotri (Principal, Sanskriti School, Delhi)

The responsibilities of the members will include:

  • – Working together with the convener for coordinated actions and decision-making
  • – Creating a detailed Parenting Calendar to meet the specified objectives
  • – Attending virtual or in-person meetings as scheduled by the board

As per the notice, the tentative deadline for submitting the committee’s recommendations is March 15, 2025.
