Pune: A tragic incident occurred when a cement-laden truck from Katraj Chowk collided with numerous parked four-wheelers and two-wheelers at the intersection near Navale Bridge, including a vehicle belonging to the Maharashtra government.

Furthermore, five vehicles parked at the signal were severely affected by this unfortunate accident. The unfortunate individual who lost their life in this tragic event has been identified as Sandesh Banda Khedekar, a 34-year-old resident of Tilekar Nagar, located near ISKCON temple on Katraj-Kondhwa road in Pune.

As per the information provided, the collision took place at approximately 10 a.m. at Navale Bridge Chowk on the road that connects Katraj to Navale. According to the information received, a truck bearing the license plate number 56-3165 collided with the following vehicles: Ertiga MH 12-JU-3565, Ertiga MH 02-DS-6496, Swift MH 12-QT-6762, Nexon MH 12-UN-3004, and a two-wheeler with the license plate number MH 12-UB-0787 – which was struck from behind.

Tragically, Sandesh Banda Khedekar, who was riding the two-wheeler, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The truck driver, Pankaj Rajaram Natkare, a 21-year-old resident of Basavakalyan in Bidar, Karnataka, has been apprehended by the Sinhagad Road police.

An FIR is being registered and immediate assistance was provided as the staff of the Sinhagad traffic department was present at the scene, and traffic has now been restored.
