Chaos in Kudal on New Year’s Eve: Tourists Clash with Locals, Gather Outside Police Station
An altercation in Sindhudurg’s Kudal market escalated as tourists and locals clashed, leading to tensions outside the police station.
As large numbers of tourists flocked to Konkan to celebrate the New Year, a shocking incident occurred in Kudal. While many welcomed 2025 with festivities, an unfortunate altercation disrupted the celebrations. In the bustling Kudal market, tourists reportedly clashed with locals, resulting in a heated dispute and alleged assault.
The incident began when an Innova car carrying tourists from Mumbai collided with three motorcycles. The ensuing argument escalated into a physical altercation, with the tourists, including women, allegedly assaulting a local businessman. The altercation caused chaos, eventually leading to the matter being taken to the police station.
Local villagers from Kavilkate gathered in large numbers outside the Kudal police station, accusing the tourists of using political influence to pressure the police. The police registered complaints from both parties and attempted to mediate, but the locals demanded accountability for the assault.
New Year’s Eve celebrations often lead to reckless behavior, including drunk driving. To address this, Nagpur’s Road Mark Foundation conducted a unique awareness campaign titled “Quit Alcohol, Drink Milk” on New Year’s Eve to encourage safe and responsible celebrations.
These incidents highlight the need for greater awareness and precaution during celebrations to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
