Pune: The Chatushrungi Police have arrested a scooter rider for beating up a cab driver on Baner Road on October 24, Tuesday.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Narendra Patil, Assistant Police Inspector, Chatushrungi Police Station said, “The incident took place on Baner Road on October 24. The accused was trying to make the entire scene look like an accident. Thus, the accused beat the cab driver & stole the driver’s car.”
As per further information, the scooter rider (accused) was driving on the wrong side of the road to reach a petrol pump. At that time, a cab was reversing. Unaware that someone was behind, the cab hit the scooter. The accused then beat the cab driver, shoved him away & drove away with the cab.
As per further information shared by Narendra Patil, a case has been registered at Chaturshrungi Police Station under Section 392 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused has been arrested & the cab has also been recovered from him. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
