Citizens demand adequate water supply in Pimple Saudagar
Former corporator of Pimple Saudagar Shatrughan Kate recently held a meeting between the residents and water department officials over the increasing water crisis in the area for the past few months.
The meeting saw presence of residents from various societies from the area raising issues such as inadequate water supply, low pressure of water supply, increasing dependency on private water tankers and many other issues related to water supply.
Ajay Suryavanshi, an official from the Water department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation heard to all the complaints and assured to resolve them at the earliest. The residents pointed out to the officials about the non functional overhead water tanks.
When the issue was raised with the local corporator Shatrughan Kate about the water tanks, he said, “Realising the need of setting up advanced infrastructure for water supply the work for construction of two overhead water tanks was taken up. These tanks are in the final stages and shall be operational soon.” Kate since last few weeks has been raising the issue with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and has also threatened to stage dharna demanding adequate water supply to the area.
